Dr Nuala Morse

Dr Nuala Morse is the Postdoctoral Research Associate for the project, based at the Whitworth Art Gallery, University of Manchester, and an Honorary Research Associate, Public and Cultural Engagement at University College London.

Nuala has an interdisciplinary background that crosses human geography, museum studies and the medical humanities; and a research ethos and practice that is underpinned by Participatory Action Research. Her PhD (Durham) explored the politics of participation in museums. Nuala’s recent research interests include the distinctive nature of the ‘social work’ of museum and culture professionals; the role of the museum as a space of social care; and the links between museum encounters and recovery.
